Geleana Drew Alston, Ph.D. is the founder, CEO and lead consultant of the Alston Educational Group, LLC. She is an energetic and innovative scholar-practitioner with experience in demonstrating impact in the fields of adult, professional and higher education. Dr. Alston currently serves as an Associate Professor (tenured) in the Department of Leadership Studies and Adult Education at North Carolina A&T State University.

Dr. Alston is an expert on the sociocultural intricacies of women, minorities, and disenfranchised groups as adult learners and leaders. She is the author of over 25 scholarly publications. In addition to her scholarship, Dr. Alston has more than 10 years experience with academic journal editorship. She has engineered professional development opportunities for female and minority faculty and higher education leaders that support their efforts to engage in scholarly productivity. Dr. Alston has optimized more than 50 dissertation and thesis committee in the role of chair, co-chair, content expert, or methodologist. She also has experience spearheading university-level committees such as the Institutional Review Board and Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure committees.

Dr. Alston has experience as an external evaluator on several projects funded by National Science Foundation (NSF), Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), and other funding agencies. Additionally, she has served on review panels for other non-federal organizations and contributed as a content expert for various work groups.
